Bow was always passing his knowledge of to our new members

On Friday the 12th of January 2018 we lost Mr. Bob Gardner at the age of 90 years. Bob was just a wounderfull person who enjoyed life to the fullest and he was the kind of man that when you met him, you would never forget him. He was kind, genital and very intelligent, always with a great sense of humor. Bob spent many years in Lethbridge Alberta as an engineer before moving to Salmon Arm BC to join the Salmon Arm Model Railroad Association. He was also a long time member of the NMRA and a Master Modeller #103. He was always happy to pass his knowledge onto anyone who wanted to listen, I know I leaned so much from this man! He will be missed by so many of us, but we are so better off for knowing him. I'm sure when our members get together we will have another thimble full for Bob.

Come and see us at the Piccadilly Mall in Salmon Arm every Saturday from 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM

For group showings contact one of our executive members or the Mall Office at: 250-832-0441 (Manager: Lori Cymbaluk)

It's a new year and the club has been hard at work updating our layout. We have had one module out for over 13 months replacing all the turnouts with "Fast Tracks" units that we all had a hand in building. We have also installed "Tam Valley" servo switch machines. All the wirering has been looked at much of it has been updated. One of our members has busy replacing quite a few lamps with LED's, we still have a lot more to replace. We are looking forward to the new year, it is always a great time modeling on our layout and for many of us we also have home layouts. We are so fortunate that we are all involved with activities outside the club with our families such campouts and BBQ's.

We provide our members with the opportunity to meet with fellow railway modellers, many of whom  may be working on their own individual projects ranging from a small apartment layout to large room with a railway empire. If you would be interested in joining our group or just interested in getting started in model railroading come and see us any Saturday at the Piccadilly Mall in Salmon Arm, looking forward to seeing you.

We are morning the lose of a good friend and a long time member of our club.

On our way to Revelstoke in 2010.

Over the years the Salmon Arm Model Railway Club has been very fortunate and proud to receive numerous awards. This is testament to the dedication of our past and present members, and to our commitment to the advancement of our hobby. We also take great pride in encouraging and welcoming new members of all skill levels to join and participate in our club activities, and to pass onto us the skills they have acquired. It is never too late or we are never too old to embrace new ideas and technology.
